Active statewide COVID cases increase slightly; decrease in Brown County

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The number of active COVID cases rose slightly statewide today, while they dropped a bit in Brown County, according to information from the State Department of Health.

South Dakota had 84 new cases and 74 new recoveries. That leaves the state with 829 active cases. There was one new death reported, that being in Lincoln County.

So far the state has had 6,050 confirmed cases, 5,143 recoveries, 62,938 negative tests, 78 deaths and currently has 91 hospitalizations.

In Brown County, there were two new cases today along with six new recoveries, lowering the active cases to 22. The county had had 315 confirmed cases, 291 recoveries, and has also had 2,295 negative tests. There have been two deaths.

Minnehaha County had 11 new cases today, bringing its total to 3,499. Beadle County had 15 new cases to run its total to 467. Pennington County had 22 new cases to move its total to 424 cases.
