PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- A South Dakota legislative interim committee approved a bill this week that, if passed by the full legislature would make major changes to the state’s marijuana laws.
The bill from the “Adult Use Marijuana Study Subcommittee” would decriminalize small uses of recreational marijuana and repeal the medical marijuana law approved by voters last year.
Committee member, Senator Art Rusch of Vermillion, says much of what they will do will hinge on a decision from the state Supreme Court.
Rusch says the committee took some time on two major questions.
Rusch says there will be many more ideas on marijuana when they get to the next session in January.
The bill now goes to the Marijuana Interim Study Committee meeting next Wednesday.
