After mild January, winter system likely to arrive by midweek

ABERDEEN, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – There are just a few days left in what has proven to be a mild January. However, it will feel a lot more like winter in the very near future, according to Laura Edwards, State Climatologist.

She said January will go down as one of the warmest on record, but that a system will move in by mid-week.

She said there is potential for heavy snow, much colder temps and strong wind.

Edwards pointed out that the area is still in a moderate drought.

As for the spring, Edwards said that the forecast for March and April appears to indicate warmer than average temperatures.
