PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- The Ag Land Assessment Implementation and Oversight Advisory Task Force met on Friday in Pierre.

The group has been reviewing the rules and regulations governing ag land assessments, especially where grasslands and crop ground overlaps.

Senator Gary Cammack of Union Center says there is a lot of misunderstanding about ag land taxes.

Cammack says they have made some recommendations on grassland valuations.

Task Force Chairman, Representative Kirk Chaffee of Whitewood, says there is a lack of experience among county assessors.

The task force may hold one more meeting to see if there will be any bills for the 2023 legislature.
