PIERRE, S.D.(Argus Leader)- As the number of COVID-19 cases among lawmakers grows, the entire body of the South Dakota House of Representatives is considered a close contact.
And all of its members have been given the green light to conduct their state business using remote-technology going forward.
South Dakota House Speaker Spencer Gosch, R-Mobridge, alerted his fellow representatives Sunday that following an eighth positive COVID-19 diagnosis among them in as many days, anyone wishing to attend legislative committee and floor sessions remotely won’t be required to physically return to Pierre this week.
