SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KWAT) —The American Red Cross announced this morning that emergency shelters that had been set up last week in Sioux Falls and Madison following tornadoes and flash flooding have now been closed.
However, Red Cross volunteers remain in those cities to provide support and resources as requested by emergency management partners.
Shelters in Yankton and Trent remain open. The Yankton shelter is located in the Senior Center. In Trent, the emergency shelter is in the City Auditorium.
In Davison County, the Red Cross is working with emergency management officials to distribute flood cleanup kits for people in Mitchell and surrounding areas.
