Annual BIG Idea Competition ready to start

ABERDEEN, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The BIG Idea Competition is about to be launched.

High school students across the state will submit business ideas and compete for more than $30,000 in cash and scholarships.

Coordinator Kelly Weaver of the Small Business Development Center provides the details.

She said that the pandemic hasn’t played too big a role, yet, but will become more of a factor as the competition draws to a close.

Students will have about two months to submit an idea. The winners will be announced on Dec. 9.

Weaver said the main goal of the competition is to stimulate thinking about what it would be like to own a business.
