Annual South Dakota State Chili Cook-off Saturday at Brown County Fair

ABERDEEN, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The 38th Annual South Dakota State Chili Cook-off will take place Saturday, Aug. 17 during the Brown County Fair. The event will be held east of Centennial Village.

Participants will be competing in three different divisions and will come from multiple states, according to George Sullivan, Committee Chairman.

Individuals can partake in a chili tasting portion of the event. Sullivan said that in the past roughly 1,500 people have sampled the chili each year.

Sullivan estimated that there will more than two dozen varieties of chili available.

The event is sponsored by the Aberdeen Optimist Club, Aberdeen Knights of Columbus and the Aberdeen American Legion.

Sullivan said there are also several other events planned for that afternoon.
