APD investigating death of infant during premature delivery

ABERDEEN, S.D. (APD Facebook) – On April 4th the Aberdeen Police Department initiated an investigation based on the suspicious death of an infant during a premature delivery at Sanford Hospital.

It is believed that the abuse of methamphetamine by the mother was a significant factor in the baby’s death. No arrests have yet been made and this matter remains under investigation.

This was the homicide that was reported to the APD on Thursday. According to reports, the incident took place in the 1200 block of North Dakota St., across the street from Aberdeen Roncalli High School.
