PIERRE, S.D. (WNAX) – The Appropriations Committee of the South Dakota legislature continues to grind through budget hearings of state agencies and departments.

Representative Jean Hunhoff of Yankton says they are now looking hard at the money that departments don’t spend.

Hunhoff says they also want more details of how state programs are working.

Appropriations Committee members have split into small groups to work more closely with state agencies.

Hunhoff says they are trying to meet the wants and needs of state residents.

Hunhoff says they expect to get updated revenue figures on Feb. 15.
