Area legislators react to Representative Reder’s resignation

ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- On Thursday, Representative Christopher Reder announced he will be resigning as South Dakota House member for District 1.

Area legislators released the following statements upon hearing he resigned.

District 1 Representative Logan Manhart:

“I am thankful for Chris’s work in the legislature this year.  It was a pleasure getting to know him and working with him to represent the voters in District 1.  He has always been a staunch defender of common sense South Dakota values and I wish him the best.”

District 3 Representative Al Novstrup:

“I would thank Chris for his service to our country and the state.  Chris delivered as promised in his campaign.”

District 3 Representative Brandei Schaefbauer:

“I would like to thank Chris for his service to our country, state and to the many veterans he helps with his Veterans’ Ranch.  Chris was an important part of the landmark majority elected by South Dakotans.  It would be my hope his appointed replacement similarly reflects the voice of the people of District 1 and their choice in the last election.”

District 3 Senator Carl Perry:

“District 23, District 3, and District 1 work together to make the northeast part of South Dakota a better place to live and raise a family.

Christopher Reder from District 1 has served has country and now has served his state as a legislator and has worked to serve the Veterans Ranch.  I’m disappointed that he cannot continue, but I understand that people have to care for themselves in addition to others.  The Governor has a big job to replace Representative Reder.  My hope is that he replaces him with a good Conservative Christian person.

I would me more than happy to visit the Governor’s office about good candidates.”
