Area quickly transitions into summer

ABERDEEN, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – June started out with a bang as temperatures soared into the 90s on Monday.

The area quickly transitioned from spring into summer, which is not uncommon according to Ryan Vipond, Meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Aberdeen.

He said that while the first day of June started out hot, it does not necessarily mean it will be a long, hot summer.

Vipond said that the warm weather could end up helping area farmers who might be dealing with wet fields.
