Area shows improvement in planting conditions

ABERDEEN, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The warmer, drier and windier conditions have allowed farmers to gain some ground on spring planting.

Laura Edwards, State Climatologist, said that the Aberdeen area has shown a significant improvement in recent weeks.

She said that the northeast part of the state is in much better shape than the area south of Interstate 90.

While there was an abundance of moisture this spring, Edwards said you can never rule out drought-like conditions throughout the course of a summer.

Edwards said that things are definitely picking up in this part of the state.
