Attorney General Marty Jackley discuss Operation Say Uncle

PIERRE, S.D.(KELO)- It goes by the name of “Operation Say Uncle”, and it’s been among the most successful drug enforcement efforts in South Dakota.

Attorney General Marty Jackley says it’s a picture of cooperation among all levels of law enforcement – state, federal and local.

And, he says, it’s the way law enforcement conducts its business.

Operation Uncle has produced nearly 50 state and federal indictments.

It’s winding down, but still operational, with two suspects still in Mexico.

It involved up to 100-pounds of meth and produced almost 50 state and federal indictments.
Jackley says it’s an example of cooperation between state, local and federal law enforcement that’s needed to stop the flow of deadly drugs across the border with Mexico.

Jackley has been the U-S Attorney for South Dakota and a tribal prosecutor in addition to his four terms as Attorney General…so he has seen the importance of the cooperation from all angles.

He says “Operation Say Uncle” is still hunting for two Sinaloan Cartel members in Mexico.
