Attorney General Marty Jackley encouraging U.S. Senate to pass “HALT Fentanyl Act”

PIERRE, S.D.(KELO)- They’re trying to get more weapons in their arsenal to fight fentanyl.

Attorney General Marty Jackley and nearly two dozen of his colleagues are asking the U.S. Senate to pass the “HALT Fentanyl Act.”

It would make all forms of the drug illegal.

Jackley says more than 80 fentanyl arrests have been made in South Dakota this year…and the number is climbing.

The bill has already passed the U.S. House.
