Attorney General, South Dakota Bankers Association partner on “Banks Never Ask” consumer education effort

PIERRE, S.D.(DRGNews)- The South Dakota Attorney General’s Office and the South Dakota Bankers Association announce a partnership to educate people about banking scams.

Bankers President Karl Adam says it’s part of the nationwide “Banks Never Ask” campaign which focuses on anti-phishing and scamming awareness.

Adam says scammers use multiple methods to try to get at your money.

If you’re unsure, Adam recommends having someone you trust look the information over before you do anything.

If you do fall for it, Adam say contact your bank right away.

Adam says another reason to contact your bank is that scammers rarely make only one attempt at taking a person’s money.
