ABERDEEN, S.D. – Effective immediately, several roads will be closed due to high winds and drifting of snow. Roads will be closed with barricades and motorists are advised not to bypass barricades due to likelihood of the road being impassable. Motorists are advised to take alternate routes until the roads are reopened.

Brown County Sheriff wants to emphasize the NO TRAVEL ADVISORY for State, County, and Township roads in Brown County.  Vehicles are getting stranded all over Brown county and making it very difficult to get anywhere. We are asking people to please stay put until conditions improve. Its very dangerous for you and our rescue people.

Brown County has received word from the SD DOT that they are pulling the state snow plows off all State highways in Brown County. They have claimed the state roads impassable.
