Avera receive grant to help reduce infant mortality rate

SIOUX FALLS, S.D.(KELO)- It’s an all-out effort to reduce infant mortality in South Dakota. The Avera Research Institute has received a five-year, 5.4-million dollar grant through the Healthy Start Initiative. PIERRE, S.D.(DRGNews)- The US Geological Survey website now says it was a 3.7 magnitude earthquake that occurred Thursday afternoon at 2:39 pm about 24 miles north of Pierre and Fort Pierre. Oliver Boyd is a Research Geophysicist with USGS. He told DRG News that they don’t have much earthquake monitoring equipment stationed in South Dakota.… Read more »
