CLARK, S.D.(Mike Tanner, Alpha Media)–Authorities have released the name of a man who drowned in Clark County while ice fishing this week.
Clark County Sheriff Robert McGraw says it appears 65 year-old Carl Iverson of Hitchcock drove his snowmobile into open water in foggy conditions while fishing on Dry Lake #2, north of the town of Willow Lake, on Tuesday.
Family members became concerned and called law enforcement when he failed to return home that night.
Iverson’s body and snowmobile were recovered the next day in about 14 feet of water.
Iverson was a Miller High School graduate and U.S. Army veteran.
His funeral will be held Monday at 2 o’clock at the Hitchcock United Methodist Church.
McGraw says an autopsy will not be conducted.
