Avera expanding in Gettysburg

GETTYSBURG, S.D. (KCCR) – Avera Health is continuing to prepare for construction of the Avera Missouri River Health Center in Gettysburg. Avera’s Vice President of Clinic Operations Karl Richards says an agreement has been reached with the Community Care Clinic of Gettysburg.

Richards says the Missouri River Health Center will be built on the site of the former Community Care Clinic.

Richards says the current Community Care Clinic employees will transition under the Avera banner.

Richards says patients should notice only minimal changes.

Regular clinic hours will continue from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.  Wednesday hours remain 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Avera expects all services to be available at the new location by Wednesday, Oct, 2. Construction on the 21,000 square-foot Avera Missouri River Health Center is expected to begin this fall.
