PIERRE, S.D.(KCCR) — Avera Health has named an interim President and C-E-O to guide the health system as Bob Sutton steps way due to health reasons. In April, Avera announced Sutton was stepping back due to a serious medical condition that requires an intensive care regimen. Julie Lautt has been named to lead Avera while a search is underway for a permanent President and C-E-O. Lautt is currently Avera’s Chief Financial Officer and will retain those duties as President and C-E-O. Lautt has been in Avera’s system for 24 years. Lautt was named Avera’s senior financial steward in 2020, having served previously as Vice President of Operational Finance. She ha also served in multiple financial roles at Avera McKennan in Sioux Falls and the University Health Center. Lautt will assume the interim duties as Avera’s President and C-E-O on August 5th.
