YANKTON, S.D.(WNAX)- Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton will be starting on a major renovation of their emergency department.

Hospital President Doug Ekeren says a lot has changed since the last time the department was expanded.

Ekeren says there is a need for a more secure facility.

Ekeren says they are looking for help to pay for the renovations.

The renovation will cost about four hundred seventy five thousand dollars and should be done by early next year.
