Avera Missouri River Health Center to benefit from Gettysburg attorney’s estate gift

GETTYSBURG, S.D.(DRGNews & KCCR)- Avera Missouri River Health Center in Gettysburg is the beneficiary of an endowment established through the South Dakota Community Foundation.

The estate of the late Joseph Neumayr (new-mire) of Gettysburg has gifted over $200,000 to establish the endowed fund.

Longtime business partner and friend Craig Smith says Neumayr believed in giving back to his community.

Neumayr served in a variety of roles while helping the hospital.

Smith says having a new medical facility available when people need it, is a huge benefit to the entire Gettysburg area.

Stephanie Judson with the South Dakota Community Foundation says her organization is honored to be able to help make Nuemayr’s vision a reality.

Avera Missouri River Health Center Administrator Kristie Livermont says the impact of gifts like this is seen every day.

The funds will be invested, providing a perpetual source of support for the health center, which was established two years ago. The facility includes an inpatient unit, a modern emergency services facility, radiology and imaging services, IV infusion suites, a new physical therapy gym and a welcoming clinic – all fully connected to the Avera eCARE® telemedicine system.
