ABERDEEN, S.D. (Press Release) — Tess Moeller has been selected as Avera St. Luke’s Vice President of Operations.

Moeller is currently serving as the Quality, Strategy, and Innovation Officer.

“Tess has done a phenomenal job in her current role. She’s helped us with our Joint Commission Accreditation and throughout the pandemic, completing big projects that have really highlighted her leadership skills,” said Todd Forkel, Regional President and CEO at Avera St. Luke’s. “Her willingness to lead strategically, the rapport she’s developed with her colleagues and her Mission mindset pose her well for this position.”

Moeller has a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Sioux Falls and earned her Bachelor’s degree in nursing from Augustana College.

She has been with the health system since July 2012, when she began her Avera career as a registered nurse. In positions that would follow, Tess was able to serve at Avera St. Luke’s, Avera McKennan, Avera Health, and Avera St. Mary’s.

Moeller will begin her new role February 1. She will replace Debbie Streier, who was recently named the new Regional President and CEO of the Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center in Minnesota.
