Ballot issue dealing with expanding Medicaid will now only be Amendment D

SOUTH DAKOTA(WNAX)- South Dakotans Decide Healthcare, a coalition of groups backing Medicaid expansion has welcomed Dakotans for Health as a member of that group. That means voters will now see only a constitutional amendment on Medicaid expansion in November.

Zach Marcus, campaign manager for South Dakotans Decide Healthcare, says it was the logical move.

Dakotans for Health has now formally asked the Secretary of State to withdraw their initiated measure from the ballot.

Marcus says they have a strong issue.

Marcus says there are many reasons voters should support Medicaid expansion.

The expansion issue has been endorsed by most of the medical and health groups in the state.
