HURON, S.D.(KCCR)- Pierre-based BankWest is making a donation of 250-thousand dollars to the Dakota Event Complex or the DEX, to be built on the South Dakota State Fairgrounds in Huron. BankWest President Charles Burke the Third says reflects BankWest’s long standing tradition of supporting South Dakota’s Ag Industry.
The DEX will replace the Open Class Beef Complex that burned down in October of 2020. The new facility will have exhibit space for over 13-thousand 4-H and F-F-A students and will expand the ability of the fairgrounds to host year-round events. The DEX is being designed to 150-thousand square feet with a capacity to host five-thousand people; two show rings and 1700 stall for cattle.
