Basin Electric to donate $15,000 to Groton Fire and Rescue

GROTON, S.D. (Press Release) – Basin Electric will present Groton Area Fire & Protection and Rescue District with a $15,554.86 donation to purchase a Power Pro Cot for their ambulance.

The presentation will take place at 1 p.m. today at the Groton Fire Hall. The power cot will be there for demonstrations.

Being a volunteer crew, Groton rescue may have times where they are limited on help. Having a Power Pro Cot will reduce the chance of injuries, including back injuries which are a common problem due to lifting and moving patients.

Basin Electric is a consumer-owned, regional cooperative headquartered in Bismarck, North Dakota. It generates and transmits electricity to 141 member rural electric systems in nine states: Colorado, Iowa, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wyoming.
