PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- A bill backed by Governor Kristi Noem that would greatly expand camping sites in Custer State Park has run into heavy opposition in the legislature.
Senate Minority Leader Troy Heinert of Mission says the expansion is an intrusion into a wildlife area.
Heinert says it’s a bad plan all around.
Heinert says the development wouldn’t stop with the campsites.
The Administration said they would rewrite the bill in an attempt to find support.
