Bill to eliminate the bingo tax passed out of the South Dakota Senate

PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- A bill to banish the so-called “bingo tax” passed the South Dakota Senate Tuesday with unanimous support.  District 20 Senator Josh Klumb of Mitchell says currently manufactures of bingo equipment and distributes of that same equipment must buy licenses to do so.

Klumb says Senate Bill 37 doesn’t wipe out all bingo regulation.

The bill moves over to the South Dakota House on a Senate floor vote of 34 to zero with one excused.
