Bill to enhance Capitol Lake on its way to the governor’s desk

PIERRE, S.D.(KCCR)- A bill to enhance Capitol Lake in Pierre has passed the South Dakota Senate.  House Bill 1013 outlines a two-part process to make much-needed repairs and beautification to the small lake on the east side of the State Capitol complex.

Senator Mary Duvall of Pierre says several areas need to be addressed at the lake.

Senator Larry Zikmund of Sioux Falls says the Flaming Fountain at Capitol Lake was important to him and his family during his eight years living in Pierre.

The next stop for House Bill 1013 is the desk of Governor Kristi Noem.
