PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- A bill legalizing recreational marijuana that was killed Monday in the House State Affairs Committee, was successfully smoked out on the House floor Tuesday.
Representative Greg Jamison of Sioux Falls led the effort.
Representative Kent Peterson of Salem, Chairman of the State Affairs Committee, says the bill got a fair hearing.
Representative Jess Olson says there were members missing from the committee hearing.
The bill will now be debated on the House floor. It would legalize possession of up to an ounce of marijuana by those over twenty one and allow marijuana to be grown, processed and sold.
