ABERDEEN, S.D.(Hub City Radio)- During this time of year blood donations are normally down across South Dakota as well as within the U.S.

The situation today is as dire as it has ever been with the supply of a number of different blood types limited to just a day or two.

LifeServe’s Territorial Representative for the Yankton area,  Kim Jensen Dietrich described what’s happening.

Dietrich informed the public the blood types that are needed.

Dietrich described the repercussions if a particular blood type is in short supply.

Dietrich talked about how good the blood supply is once donated and reminded everyone that donations made in South Dakota stays within the state.

Lifeserve has a location in Aberdeen.  Their hours are Monday from 11:30am-6pm and Friday from 7am-1:30pm.
