ABERDEEN, S.D. (By American News Staff Reports) – BNSF Railway has nearly $5 million in improvements planned for it’s Aberdeen rail yard.
“We are replacing our current locomotive facility with a new one,” a company spokesman said. “The new facility will increase our capabilities and be more efficient.”
A locomotive facility is where service and maintenance are done on locomotives.
BNSF will also be adding a new storage building, according to the railroad. The combined project is expected to be completed in 2021 and, according to a building permit filed with the city, cost $4.9 million.
