MADISON, S.D.(KELO)- Regents also approved a new master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence at Dakota State University, starting this fall.
The new degree will be the only one of its kind in the state, and one of just a few in the region.
Dr. Rebecca Hoey (HOY), Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs, says AI isn’t entirely new to DSU students and faculty.
DSU officials say it will help build South Dakota’s technology industry and keep graduates in the state to work.
Thursday, the Board of Regents approved a new master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence at the school starting this fall.
Dr. Rebecca Hoey-Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs says this is a seperate initiative from the Quantum Computing Center just approved by the legislature.
Dr. Hoey says Regents are still working on graduate certificates in Quantum Computing.
