PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- The demand for teachers, doctors, nurses, and other professionals continues to rise.
South Dakota Board of Regents President Tim Rave says the universities are responding to the demand.
The Regents got a report at their meeting at Northern State University in Aberdeen last week that the McArther-Welsh dorm at Northern will be mothballed for the next school year. Rave says its not all connected to dropping enrollment.
Rave says they have to continue to respond to demands from students and parents.
Overall enrollment has dropped since it peaked at over thirty-six thousand students system wide in 2017.
