Body of missing Yankton woman found in Michigan

YANKTON, S.D. (WNAX) – The Yankton County Sheriff’s Office was notified by the Menominee County Michigan Sheriff’s Office on Saturday that a body was recovered in a river in rural Menominee Township Michigan.

Preliminary identification indicates that the body recovered is that of Tamara LaFramboise (la-frahm-boy) who was reported missing to the Yankton County Sheriff’s Office on March 5th.

Monday the Yankton County States Attorney’s Office filed a complaint charging 45 year old Stephen Robert Falkenberg of Yankton with 2 nd Degree Murder. Falkenberg was arrested in Sioux Falls by the Minnehaha County Fugitive Task Force yesterday (Monday) afternoon. Falkenberg will be held at the Yankton County Jail.

A multijurisdictional investigation is being conducted by the Yankton County Sheriff’s Office, The Federal Bureau of Investigation, South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation, Menominee County Michigan Sheriff’s Office, Michigan State Police and Michigan State Crime Lab.
