Body of Yankton woman was dismembered when discovered in Michigan

YANKTON, S.D. (WNAX) – The body of a missing Yankton woman was dismembered when it was discovered in a creek in Michigan.

That information was in documents released by the Yankton County Clerk of Courts office.

According to the Yankton County Sheriff’s Office, the body of 46-year-old Tamara LaFramboise (la-frahm-boy) was recovered from a rural creek in Menominee Township in Michigan, near the Wisconsin border.

She had been reported missing March 5 by her mother who lives in New Mexico.

44-year-old Stephen Falkenberg, a Yankton resident with family in Michigan, was apprehended in Sioux Falls Monday and has been charged with second-degree murder. He is being held in the Yankton County Jail. Bond was set Tuesday at $1 million.

His first court appearance is set for 9 a.m. Thursday in Yankton.
