Both South Dakota Senators address Southern Border

WASHINGTON, D.C.(KELO)- The illegal immigration records keep falling…and Senator John Thune on warning of the related dangers.

Now, it’s beginning to affect legislation.

Thune says Senate Republicans won’t support a Supplemental national Security bill until things change on border policy.

Senator Thune says there were nearly a quarter of a million encounters at the southern border in October.

He says there were also a thousand “got aways” every day.

It’s not only a humanitarian crisis, it’s also a major national security threat.

South Dakota’s two U-S Senators are part of a stand by Republicans to hold up a Supplemental national Security bill until the southern border crisis is addressed.

Senator Rounds appeared on News Nation, saying the next move is up to Senate Democrats and the Administration.

Senator John Thune took to the Senate floor to ring the bell again on the dangers at our Southern border.

Thune says Senate Republicans won’t sign on to the National Security Supplemental bill because the Biden Administration isn’t doing anything about it.
