RAPID CITY, SD (HubCityRadio.com) – After the first day of action out west in Rapid City, Olivia Braun was the leader in the clubhouse with a five stroke lead; so, what did she do for an encore? She shot even par and won the two day tournament by a total of twelve strokes over the next closest competition.
Braun was as good as advertised on the front nine to start the day, shooting three under, with picking up birdies on hole(s) three (a par four), the sixth hole (a par five) and the par four 9th hole. Although she did misfire on a few holes on the back nine, she built a comfortable lead and finished strong with a birdie on the 18th hole; en route to an even par day. Braun finished twelve shots ahead of second place Allison Meyerink of Mitchell, who carded a [+7, 79] and ended the two day tournament +15 over.
On the boys side, Riley Christensen of Sioux Falls finished the day four shots ahead of second place Luke Olson of Fort Pierre. Olson was the leader after day one, by one stroke, but shot [+5] and Christensen carded an even par day, good for first place in the tournament overall. Check out the leaderboard below:
