BROOKINGS, S.D. (KJJQ) – All magistrate and circuit court matters in Brookings County have been continued to late April and early May.
States Attorney Dan Nelson says the decision was made after consultation with Presiding Circuit Judge Gregory Stoltenburg.
Nelson says those criminal offenders currently in custody or those who may be jailed during this time period, special hearings will be held to ensure constitutional protections are fulfilled.
Nelson says, considering CDC guidelines, he feels the safety of Brookings County is best served by this decision.
