Brown County Commission address budget supplements for 2025

ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- The Brown County Commission discuss supplementing budgets for various departments during Tuesday’s meeting.

The Brown County Commission approved that on a unanimous vote.  Next Heupel talks about supplementing funds for 4-H building.

Brown County Commissioner Duane Sutton expressed concerns about it.

The Commission moved on to funding for improvements to the Brown County Fairgrounds.  Commissioner Sutton revealed the profit generated by the fair in 2024.

Brown County Commissioner Mike Wiese made a motion to take $350,000 of the profit to the Fair Improvement Fund and explains why.

Brown County Fair Manager Rachel Kippley acknowledge the motion but also discussed what the Fair Board did to help generate revenue from the Brown County Fair.

After hearing that, Brown County Commissioner Drew Dennert made a counter motion to put the full profits from the fair to the improvement fund.

Brown County Commission approved over $380,000 to go to the Brown County Improvement Fund.
