ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- At Tuesday’s Brown County Commission meeting, the commission received updates from Brown County Highway Superintendent Dirk Rogers.
Rogers talked about bids for the surfacing projects for 2025.
The department received a total of six bids ranging from 4.2 to 5.2 million dollars for the projects. Rogers told the commission they would discuss the bids by looking at the maps to see if they would work.
Rogers later returned and recommended the lowest bid from Bituminous Paving Inc. based in Ortonville, MN.
Rogers also approves the bid because of the oil used for the roads approved by the South Dakota DOT.
Rogers also provided an update on the Richmond road project.
District 3 Senator-elect Carl Perry talks about the budget projected by Governor Kristi Noem to include money for Richmond Dam.
Rogers hopes to use business connected to the dam to help with other projects.
