ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- The Brown County Commission on Tuesday did second reading on an ordinance looking to set setbacks for wind projects within the county.
Brown County citizen Dawn Shepherd expressed concerns about the setbacks.
Shepherd compares this to when they were farming up in North Dakota.
Shepherd discuss how the one mile setback might not be far enough setback.
Shepherd would like to see guidelines be more uniformed county wide.
Shepherd felt the ordinance if approved could in long term could cost the counties more going forward.
One person in favor of the ordinance was Frederick resident Scott Campbell:
Shepherd agreed with Campbell on a two mile setbacks for the wind farms.
Brown County Commission voted to refer this ordiance and the ordinance dealing with data center back to the Brown County Commission planning & zoning board.
