Brown County Commission address resolution dealing with mandatory electronic tags on livestock

ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- The Brown County Commission on Tuesday dealt with a resolution to oppose using Mandatory Electronic Identification(MEID) on livestock. MEID was put in place back in Novembet of 2024 under former President Biden’s Administration.

Commissioner Drew Dennert discuss what the resolution is all about.

Dennert believes this choice should be made by local producers and not mandated by the government.

Dennert also discuss potential cost this could be to producers.

Brown County Commission approved the resolution.

Senator Rounds toward the tail end of Biden’s administration(Jan. 17th) to put an end to MEID.
