ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- At last week’s Brown County Commission meeting, the commission agreed on a 3-2 to have Brown County Auditor Lyn Heupel prepare a resolution to reduce the number of precincts from 11 down to 4 within the city of Aberdeen.  That resolution was introduced at this week’s meeting.

Brown County GOP Chairman Rich Hilgeman expressed his personal opposition to the resolution.

Hilgeman understand why this is getting done.

One issue addressed is when school board elections will be done.  Heupel talks about why they are going to remain in June.

Heupel inform everyone that Brown County is not the only county looking to reduce precincts.

Commissioner Drew Dennert who opposed it last week, reiterated his opposition in this week’s meeting.

The commissioners approved the resolution on a 3-2 vote.  Commissioner Kyler Dinger was the other opposition to the resolution as we was last week.
