Brown County Commission delays sale of building for new regional jail for another week

ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- The Brown County Commission Tuesday once again addressed the issue of the surplus building that was going to be used for the regional jail.

Commissioner Duane Sutton put a motion on the table to postpone the sale of the building to Jay Harris of Harris Machine Company for one more week.

Aberdeen businessman James Meyers with Meyers Tractor Salvage told the commission he could be interested in buying a portion of the building.

Commissioner Mike Wiese talk regardless of what happens to the HubCity, Inc. building that the issues with jail needs to be addressed.

The commission voted unanimously to delay the sale for at least one more week.  Next Brown County Commission meeting will be Thursday, July 6th at 8:45am because Tuesday the 4th of July is a federal holiday & county offices will be closed.
