ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- The Brown County Commission on Tuesday did second readings on ordinances on setting guidelines for projects involving data centers and wind energy projects. The main focus of this meeting was on wind projects.
Deputy State Attorney Ross Aldentaler addressed an amendment to the wind energy project ordinance.
Brown County Commissioner Mike Gage expressed the issue of decommissioning wind projects.
Michael Iacopetti with Invenergy whose looking to do wind farms near the Frederick area agreed with this.
Iacopetti did express some concerns with portions of this ordinance. He was looking to clarify about unincorporated towns.
Planning and Zoning Commissioner for Brown County, Scott Bader and the commissioners looked to clarify what that meant.
Iacopetti also discussed concern about the noise portion of this ordinance.
Bader addressed his concerns about this.
Iacopetti responded by hoping the ordinance would instead of being on the property line but be from the residence itself.
Aldentaler and the Commission also attempted to clarify this.
The Brown County Commission agreed to defer this to their next meeting on Tuesday, November 18th.
They did approve the second reading for guidelines for data centers in the county.
