ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- The Brown County Commission on Tuesday received a report on inspections on their bridges from IMEG.

Michael Gutenkauf with IMEG described the procedure.

Chelsey Sheridan also with IMEG talks about adjustments being made for coding systems used for the bridges.

Sheridan discuss the average sufficiency rate for Brown County.

Brown County average sufficiency in 2024 was at 83.9 which is higher than the state’s average at 76.4

Brown County Highway Superintendent Dirk Rogers discuss the number of bridges(9) listed in poor conditions are considered eligible for grants.

IMEG inspected 59 bridges this year with 30%(17) in good condition, 54%(30) in fair condition, and 16%(9) in poor condition.
