ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- On Tuesday, the Brown County Commission received an update from Highway Superintendent Dirk Rogers.
Rogers update on the detour in regards to the Richmond Dam project.
Commissioner Duane Sutton announcing Tuesday that they will provide weekly update during each of their meetings.
Rogers also update on the roads around where they work at off of Roosevelt and 8th Ave NE.
Also during the meeting, the commission was hearing about possibly reducing the speed limit on County Highway 13 from 55mph to 45mph. Rod Tobin is a resident and he talks about the area that they are looking at.
Tobin talk about how much longer it would take on the highway if the speed limit is dropped.
Tobin told the reason the reason for the requested speed change is a safety concern.
Rogers talks about stats the department gathered during the week of April 16th.
Rogers offered no official stance.
Brown County Sheriff Dave Lunzman also offered no stance but encouraged the commissioners to stick with one specific speed limit for safety reasons.
The commissioners made no official announcement on that Tuesday.
