Brown County Commission works on several issues

ABERDEEN, SD (Hub City Radio)

The Commissioners of Brown County heard from several people and dealt with a range of issues. The first was Citizen Tom Leonhardt with questions on what constitutes Livestock and County Laws being superseded by State Laws. The Commission deferred any action until they can have the States Attorney look into the matter.

Work never stops for the Brown County Fair as their 2027 plans are taking shape. One issue was to secure a contract for sanitation during the Fair. They opted to go another 3 years with the company that has been handling the tasks in the previous years.

Then it was on to securing an Electrician.

The Commission moved to approve both those contracts, while 2 others were deferred until a more technical comparison can be done. They were for Grand Stand sound and lighting systems for the Rodeo and Concerts and another for Digital Screens, Displays and Jumbotrons.

Highway Superintendent Dirk Rogers gave an update and said things are going along nicely and they are able to start finishing up some projects. He also acknowledged an Employee that received an award for innovation. More on that story, coming soon.
